Some of Joe McGuinness’ writing have found a cherished place in my reading history (“The Miracle of Castel Di Sangro” might be the best football book ever), so this piece from his son was both touching and thought-provoking.

I encountered Rousseau for the first time at school. I’ve been contemplating him and his work ever since. This is Rousseau’s contribution to understanding Trump.

One of those economic thoughts that baffle the layperson- you do not tax to spend. You spend first and only tax in order to maintain a monopoly for government-issued money.
